What Makes It Different?

What makes the Christian life different? One of my favorite Scripture verses answers that question. The apostle Paul explained the difference in his message to the believers in Galatia. He wrote, “”I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20) More →

On what basis do you make decisions in life? As you walk through this life, what is your source of counsel for the choices that you make? Are you driven by what seems or feels right? Is it the popular views of society that determine your direction? More →

Joy or Happiness?

What is the difference between joy and happiness? One originates internally, the other is external. In Paul’s letter to the Christians of Galatia, he wrote that “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” (Galatians 5:22-23) More →

“Whatever you call him, we all worship the same god.” Have you ever heard someone make such a statement? Have you made it yourself? The truth is, God sent His people into captivity for buying into that type of thinking. More →

“It won’t affect me unless I let it.” That is one of Satan’s most effective strategies. Christians who believe they can do whatever they please and not be affected by it, are already deceived. More →

What’s Getting to Will?

admin Blog, Conformed, Emotions, Erik Garthe, Holy Spirit, Mind, No Longer Conformed, Physical, Satan, spirit, transformed, Unsaved, What is Getting to Will?, Will 0 Comment July 9, 2018

“It doesn’t really affect me.” That’s the way we usually excuse a questionable activity. God created humans of three parts: body, soul, and spirit. In a believer’s walk with the Lord, the soul is the primary target of Satan. Why? More →

“Lord, send a revival,” is the beginning phrase of the chorus to the old hymn. Would you like to see a revival? I know that I long to experience that kind of movement of the Holy Spirit among His people. More →

“We are more than conquerors” (Romans 8:37), is how the apostle Paul refers to the effectiveness of Christians through the Lord Jesus Christ. I must admit that I don’t see the reality of that statement in general among believers today. More →

Why did God let it happen? Why did God let my parents get divorced? Why did God let a loved one die? Why did God let me be poor? Why did God let me have a physical defect? Why did God let me have enemies? More →

“Search me, O God, and know my heart.” Those familiar words from the lips of David in Psalm 139 are the starting place for personal renewal. Further, a widespread revival begins with a work in the individual hearts. More →
