Erik Garthe
Erik Garthe, a native of New England, is a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in North Carolina. He came to the gospel ministry after a 15-year business management career in the computer industry, working as regional manager for Latin America in Miami, Florida with Wang Laboratories. For nearly 20 years, he served as pastor of Edgemere Baptist Church in Sparrows Point, Maryland. Over the next several years, Pastor Erik supplied pulpits, preaching in many churches in the Baltimore area. During that time, he attended Towne Baptist Church in Joppa, Maryland, where he taught an adult Bible Study and assisted the pastor, preaching and teaching as needed. He has served in denominational roles at the national, state, and local levels, including the Committee on Committees of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Committee to Nominate of the Baptist Convention of Maryland & Delaware, as well as moderator of the Baltimore Baptist Association. Pastor Erik and his family live in Canton, Maryland and he currently serves at Canton Baptist Church near downtown Baltimore as Associate Pastor of Education and Discipleship.
