Life is Too Short
Life is too short to have a bad attitude. Your attitude, good or bad, has a significant impact on your life. Your attitude affects your approach to life, whether you are an optimist or a pessimist. Your attitude affects your relationships with people, how you treat them.
Your attitude greatly affects success and failure, much more that the power of resources. Your attitude at the beginning of a task affects its outcome more than anything else. Your attitude can turn your problems into blessings. Your attitude can give you a positive perspective on the journey of life. Pay attention! Your attitude is not automatically good simply because you are a Christian. There are a lot of bad attitudes among God’s people. There were two shoe salesmen who were sent to an island to sell shoes. The first salesman was shocked to see that no one on the island wore shoes. He sent a message back to the office, “Will return home tomorrow. No one wears shoes.” The other salesman was thrilled to find no one wears shoes. He communicated back to the headquarters, “Please send 10,000 shoes. Everyone here needs them.” Remember David’s battle with Goliath? Whenever the giant came onto the field, the Israelite soldiers thought, “He’s so big. We can never kill him.” David looked at the same man and thought, “He’s so big I can’t miss.” What is the difference? Attitude. Philippians 2:3-8 uses the example of Christ to tell us several things about the proper Christian attitude. #1 Do things for the right reasons (v. 3) #2 Regard others as more important than yourself (v. 3) #3 Look out for the interests of others (v. 4) #4 Be willing to serve God and others (v. 4) #5 Possess the attitude of Jesus: He wasn’t concerned with power, but instead emptied Himself; He demonstrated obedience, fulfilling God’s purpose (vv. 5-8). What perspective is your attitude giving you? Life is too short to have a bad attitude.
