Are You Saved?
Are you saved? Have you escaped God’s eternal wrath and punishment in hell? Do you possess the hope of eternal life with the Lord in heaven?
Hebrews 9:27 informs that “it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” Not one of us can prevent our eventual death—look around and see if any have been successful. The quoted verse indicates that every person must stand before God’s judgment bar after passing from this life on earth. In that day, no one will be able to present the God of the universe with a list of good works and demand entrance into heaven. Isaiah states, “all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags.” (Isaiah 64:6) It doesn’t matter how good a person is—one tiny sin condemns him to an eternal death sentence. There is only one way to be saved: through the forgiveness of God because of the sacrifice of the life of the Lord Jesus Christ. “God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:11-12) How can I be saved? Acknowledge that you have sinned and deserve God’s eternal punishment in hell – reference Romans 3:23 and 6:23. Believe that Jesus died to pay the death penalty for your sin and then rose from the dead – reference Romans 5:8 and 10:9-10. Confess your sin and ask God to save you and give you eternal life in heaven – reference Romans 10:13. These are the ABC’s of salvation. Have you applied them to you life? Or will you spend an eternity in hell because you refuse to humble yourself before God’s throne of grace as a sinner? Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father. You can never do enough good things to be worthy.
